Birney S. Brayton

Birney Brayton joined Davis & Cannon, LLP as an associate in October 2022. Birney graduated with honors from the University of Wyoming College of Law in May 2022, where he served as an article editor for the Wyoming Law Review. In addition to editing student and practitioner pieces, Birney published his own comment with a co-author in the Wyoming Law Review in 2021.
While in law school, Birney was a judicial intern for District Judge John G. Fenn in Wyoming’s Fourth Judicial District. Birney also interned at Davis & Cannon, LLP and the Estate Planning Practicum at the University of Wyoming. Before law school, Birney earned degrees in Political Science and Environment and Natural Resources from the University of Wyoming and interned for U.S. Senator John Barrasso in Washington, D.C. Birney also worked as a wildland firefighter for the U.S. Forest Service for several years.
Birney is licensed to practice in the State of Wyoming and the United States District Court for the District of Wyoming.
Birney grew up in Sheridan, Wyoming and is grateful to be back in his hometown. In his free time, Birney is an avid fly fisherman and enjoys everything that the great state of Wyoming has to offer.
